It’s your elopement morning and you wake up before sunrise to start the climb to the iconic viewpoints of Tre Cime di Lavaredo and Cadini di Misurina, hot espresso in hand and a cold beer waiting in my camera bag for when we reach the summit.
You’re getting ready with your partner and finishing your elopement day attire with a pair of sturdy hiking boots and a whole lot of excitement.
A via ferrata followed by private vows on a sheer cliff · setting off across an alpine lake in a row boat as the sun sets · dinner at the rifugio before falling asleep under the stars.
An intimate day shared between you and your partner, celebrating the two of you, no rules, no external expectations. Nothing is off limits, in addition to your photographer I’m your adventure planner and personal adventure guide.
You’re getting ready with your loved ones in a beautiful rustic villa. You’re all singing along and dancing to sarà perché ti amo (iykyk). I’m keeping your timeline so you can focus on what really matters.
Soon we will move on to your first look, editorial photoshoot, ceremony, and reception (complete with dance floor flash photos) - celebrating your love with friends and family until the crack of dawn.
Your day isn’t just about the two of you, it’s about celebrating with everyone who got you here.
From sunrise to sunset, crampons to ice picks, rock climbing harnesses to via ferrata sets. Mountains, lakes, glaciers, rivers, and the sea. No adventure is out of reach. We have experience in small planes, helicopters, and on multi-day trekking trips.
Let’s dream big and (I’ll) plan accordingly- you deserve to experience your day, leave the legwork (and bad weather plan b, c, and d) to us!
Getting married in Italy isn’t as easy as running down to city hall with your paperwork. Getting married in Italy takes substantial work. Whether you’re planning a legal or a symbolic ceremony, there are multiple steps that must be meticulously planned. The world is your oyster (and at Thorn & Thistle we love oysters and pairing them with crisp white wines). You name the place, we will meet you there. our passports and camera bags are always packed and ready for a trip.

I specifically offer full planning services for elopement couples in the Dolomites because this place is so special, but to get the most out of it (especially for photos) it takes experience. I’ve spent the last few years not only capturing beautiful couples in these mountains but learning the trails like the back of my own hand, establishing relationships with rifugi + hotels, and having favorite dishes to recommend at some of the best hidden gem restaurants in the region.
When you hire me for your Dolomites elopement or couples session you’re gaining a photographer + friend + planner + someone who will truly make sure every detail is covered so you can enjoy your time and focus on what really matters. It is such an honor to explore these mountains, and an even bigger honor being trusted to show them to others.
My promise to you is I have the best list of sunrise and sunset photo locations in the region and I’m always down to celebrate your occasion by sharing a cold South Tyrolean white wine.
I’m here to bridge the gap between countries, cultures, and languages. Born in the United States and having lived in Italy for years, I understand the wedding and elopement cultures of both countries.
Consider me your personal liaison, tour guide, and new friend who knows the best aperitivo in town. A photographer for all love and all people.
